8th IMC Students’ Competition: A Review
Saturday, November 17, 2007Admirable. Appealing. Authentic. Advertising Assumptionists.
I greatly commend the 3rd year advertising students of AC for doing such a splendid presentation at the PANA's 8th IMC Students' Competition. The presentors diction, articulation and enthusiasm in delivering their marketing plan proved to be their strongest point. Their astonishing deliverance made their marketing strategies sound even better. They made me feel like on the edge of my seat. They were breath taking.
Similar to what one of the judges said, the way they built up the brand is very catchy. Also the TVCs they made had a persuasion factor, which is very very good. The 3 hour wait is really worth it, seeing fellow Assumptionists bring pride for their Alma Mater.
Another thing that I admired from the presentors was that, compared to the other finalists, they did not use traditional means of marketing one's product or brand. They made use of technological advances instead. They went beyond the in-between-tv-show-advertisements but instead into a full blown television reality segment/show. Creative and resourceful.
Hindi sa nagulat ako pero napabilib ako sa galing at ganda ng pag present nila. They did a very good job. And I've seen the way the block worked so hard on it. There was an instance when I chanced upon Berl and her block doing final prep for the competition at 5 in the morning. Talk about non stop dedication and passion.
Pardon the critique. I know that the presentation does not more likely rely on the aesthetics but I guess the presentation visuals and design could have been given more time or attention. Sorry if this is the cause of my artsy OCness but un lang ung nakita kong sign ng kulang sa time ung presentation. pero ok naman. It got the message across so quits na rin.
Also worth mentioning is the Miriam College's entry. Their conceptual presentation of incorporating their racing theme into their presentation. The props, stunts, almost perfect scripted and "memorized looking" deliverance was pretty impressive.
The whole PANA thing was a worthwhile experience. I hope next year, our batch would be able to achieve the same thing like they did or wishing even better. hehe. Excited na ko.
I'll post photos soon.
